I don't know if I can legally use the word "Pop Tart" but that is the basic of what we are creating with this recipe. But then again I don't actually put these in the toaster...although you might be able to to reheat later. I haven't tried that...stay tuned when I make a bigger batch I will try it!
Since I already had the dough made up yesterday this toaster pastry only took me 4 minutes to create. Then while it was in the oven I poured a cup of coffee and had my 15 minutes of quiet time.
Yes...I wasn't kidding when I said...IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE COMPLICATED OR TIME CONSUMING!!

Homemade Jam Filled Breakfast Pastry
Ingredients
Homemade Dough (Recipe Here)
Gluten-Free Flour for dusting
Jam
Directions
Preheat oven to 350*.
Lay out parchment paper on the counter and place a light dusting of flour on the paper.
Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and set aside.
Take a handful of dough and work around the flour a bit to form a nice ball...doesn't have to be perfect!
Using a rolling pin...and more flour if needed...roll your dough until you reach the desired thickness for your crust...know that it will thicken slightly in the baking process.
You will want the finished size to be about double what you want your end result to be.
Cut the rough edges off to make a clean line...I use a pizza cutter for this.
Place the rolled dough onto the cookie sheet.
Take a spoonful of jam and place the middle of one side of the dough...We are going to fold one side onto the other.
Fold the side without the jam onto the side with the jam.
Gently press the edges together. Then using a lightly floured fork gently press the sides together.
Bake for 15 minutes.
You can use an icing or eat as is. If you choose to use icing I would let cool for 10 minutes or so before trying to put on the pastry.
Picture Directions

Gather ingredients and preheat oven.

Grab a handful of dough.

Roll dough.

Roll to desired thickness

Cut off rough edges

Move to cookie sheet.

Add jam to one side and fold the other side on top of...OOPs...I forgot the picture before I folded.

Gently press sides together...It doesn't have to look perfect. Use a fork if desired to press the edges together...you may need to lightly flour it so it doesn't stick.
Place in the oven for 15 minutes or until gold brown.
If desired ice with a powdered sugar icing after it has cooled.
